Talismanic Jack Uren has re-signed for Bristol All Golds for the 2022 season.

A product of Abbeywood Community School in the city and SGS Rugby League Academy, Jack joined West Wales Raiders in League 1 mid-season. It was no coincidence that his signing sparked the Welsh club’s greatest ever “purple patch” with eye-catching performances against a clutch of famous clubs from Lancashire and Yorkshire.

Before his departure Jack amassed a considerable number of tries for the All Golds in victory against Southern Conference League opposition. The Bristol club secured Jack’s signature despite significant interest elsewhere.

Head of Rugby Development at the All Golds, Simon Martin, is naturally pleased with the return of his former captain,

”Great news to have Jack Uren back with the All Golds. He is a product of SGS College, where we are building a great relationship to grow Rugby League in Bristol.Jack is an inspirational player, a leader to those around him both on and off the field, and will help drive the team to future success in 2022.”

Uren is adept in both the number 1 and 6 positions but it is as a 9 that he is at his best. His trademark dummy half work is a test for the best of defences. He is a hooker in the true modern role.

Jack too is eager to don the famous Golden Fern logo again,

“I’m really excited to be back with the All Golds for next season. We have a really strong core of players built up from the previous years and with a few additions I think we can continue to push in the right direction.”
