Leeds Rhinos young star, Ben White, joins the All Golds
Leeds Rhinos youngster Ben White has joined The University of Gloucestershire All Golds on loan.
The exciting half back who has scored eight tries in ten appearances for the Rhinos U19 league leading side so far this season will now get the opportunity to play at the next level up as part of Steve McCormack’s side in the Kingstone Press Championship One.
White, who has played for England Youth, originally joined the Rhinos from Saddleworth Rangers and has been a mainstay of the Rhinos development teams over the last three years including appearing in the Under 19 Grand Final last season.
All Golds coach, Steve McCormack, commented:
“It’s another excellent catch for the club and Ben certainly fits the ethos that we are creating at the All Golds. He is a young player who will have a desire to prove himself at Championship and even Super League level. I am confident that Ben will be a tough player to face as anyone who has come through the Leeds system will have received outstanding coaching on and off the field. I would like to extend a big thank you to Brian McDermott and Simon Bell for allowing him to come to us.”
Simon Bell, the Rhinos Head of Youth, added:
“This is a great opportunity for Ben to play senior rugby especially as he comes to the end of his Under 19 career. We have an existing relationship with the All Golds and I am sure Ben will grab the chance with both hands and take the next step up in his career.”
